An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hythe Engineering for a Project Administrator to join our team during a phase of substantial growth. Hythe Engineering, a prominent player in the marine engineering sector located at Portsmouth Naval Base, is expanding, and this role has been created to provide vital support to the Project Management function. 

Key Responsibilities
  • General support to the workforce on logging and allocation of hours to live jobs.
  • Facilitate seamless communication among project teams, operations, and clients.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including status reports and meeting minutes.
  • Schedule and coordinate project-related events, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Maintain precise records of project-related documents.
  • Work in line with company Culture DNA.
Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
  • Security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is necessary for working on regulated industry projects.

Desirable:

  • Qualification in Administration or Project Management.
  • Proven experience in a project administrative role, preferably within an engineering organisation.
  • Knowledge of nuclear and defence industry regulations and processes.

Labourer/Firewatcher

Job Role: Labourer/Firewatcher

Job Type: 3-month contract  

Hourly Rate: £13 p/h

Working Hours: 42.5 hours p/w – overtime available 

Location: Portsmouth 

Requirements: Be over 18 and able to gain a full security clearance to work in a Naval Base environment

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hythe Engineering for a Labourer/Firewatcher to join our team during an Afloat Project. Hythe Engineering, a prominent player in the marine engineering sector located in Portsmouth Naval Base, is expanding, and this role has been created to provide vital support to the operational function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring fire safety during hot work activities onboard.
  • Communicate any fire risks or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide general support and labouring activities for Pipe & Steelwork teams.
  • Undertake suitable training and provide safety support for confined space working.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all compartments and work areas.
  • Follow and promote Health & Safety processes and permit-controlled procedures.
  • Support any logistics duties when required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
Skills and Experience
  • Possess a full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.
  • Experience with power tools and their capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering tooling and infrastructure.
  • Applicants must be 18 or over and able to gain security access.
